Though the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge been released for about 4 months already, Samsung just announced that you are now able to get a unlocked variant of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. Why would you want to buy an unlocked variant? Bands and less bloatware! The unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge is compatible with all U.S. carriers; no carrier specific model. There will be less bloatware since it's not carrier branded. Will only come with what Samsung throws in their phones and Google, along with possibly Microsoft apps.

Here are the bands available for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge:

  • GSM: Band 2/4/5/8
  • UMTS: Band 1/2/4/5/8
  • CDMA 1x & EVDO: BC0, BC1, BC10
  • TD-SCDMA: Band 34/39
  • FDD-LTE: Band 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/18/19/20/25/26/29/30
  • TDD-LTE: Band 38/39/40/41

It is available for purchase now at select retailers and Samsung.com for the price of $669.99 for the S7 and $769.99 for the S7 edge. It is no where cheap, but it is one of the few phones that have a lot of different bands available to use worldwide.

I wish more phones included a lot of bands, making it compatible with more carriers... And wish Samsung could slap stock Android on it and a lower price tag. That would make a tempting phone! Don't you think?
