The new design is simple and clear, it is better than the current design

The new design confuses me, I cannot understand the logic of this function. I think the current design is better

Both the new design and the current design are almost the same for me, "they are simple and clear".

I like the new design however it doesnt fit the layout of the rest of the UI. If the whole settings menu is getting revamped with a UI to match this design I would say its very elegant and nice but would be very out of place if the reset of the UI isnt updated

I prefer the new design, it is cleaner and clearer but I agree with that it doesn't match the current style. the font style is different as are the toggles but I prefer this over what we have currently. Most importantly there is an option to control the intensity of the effect. Even if everything else was exactly the same I would vote for this because of the slider to control intensity.

Oh and one more small thing it's Night Light "function" not founction.

I prefer new design, seems to provide a little more functionality. I personally don't see need for this feature, but definitely think there needs to be customization to make it practical.

I Pick New design, is more appealing and look more professional  than current  Night Mode ui, but I have to agree with   & ,doesn't really match current System UI and if New System UI  will be replacing current ui will be awesome.

Unless this new design is part of a new theme for future releases.

They both seem great to me, but the new one is better in my opinion. I was originally looking for an adjustment to the bluelight filter, and thought it should have been included.

The new design is simpler, better and eye care effect is perfect addition. Although, I do not have any issues with the current design either. I like both design and both are simple to understand and easy to use. Thumbs up ZTE.

I'm not sure if I like either, it's currently 8 pm and it's not on. I have it set to sunset to sunrise. According to the weather channel sunset is at 742pm PST. I assume it's not working. For this reason I can't vote for any of the choices. Another bug?

I like the new design, but yeah it doesn't match the layout as the rest of the options.

  • austin45austin45 United StatesPosts: 192 ✭✭✭✭✭

Both designs are pretty clear in my opinion. But the new design does have an better overall look compared to the old design.

I like the new design, but like others said, it probably doesn't match the current UI layout too much. Unless this is a sneak peek of the upcoming changes to the UI on the Axon 7 or other upcoming phones Have to the UI somewhat consistent.

New design looks a lot like IOS. I do prefer it as I think it's more modern. While it does not fit completely with the current design, it does look much like modern OS (and also looks more closely like the stock look). I think that this is where the next OS will be heading so it's good to see it is being revamped and I do hope that we will also modernize the rest of the UI so we will have a cohesive look.

The only thing I am not sure is the eye care setting. it sounded a bit odd. I think it would probably be better just to have "intensity" and underneath it have a bit description about eye-care.

It seems is using an International Theme (make Settings UI page looks like that), I have them and that's why I know is part of it

Like most people who have commented so far, I like the new design better than the older one.
Hopefully ZTE will modify the rest of the UI to look similar. The design is very pleasing to the eyes.
Being able to control the intensity of the Night Light feature is a very nice feature.

  • razor512razor512 United StatesPosts: 2,639 ✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭

I like the new design, it is more intuitive as it provides better visual hints at to the full set of functionality that it offers.

The increased control over the effect is also nice to have for those who use the function.

I prefer the new design. It is straight forward and gives more options and flexibility in the settings which is what most people want.

The new design is better. The intensity option is nice and the sub menu is done well.

  • chrsnchrsn New YorkPosts: 217 ✭✭✭✭✭

For the first page, I believe this is good. I understand it's a mock-up so if you're just looking for general direction this is the right choice. By adding a seekBar view at the bottom you take care of the customization gripe that I have with the current Night Light.

That said, my message to the developers:

Instead of using an onClick method to go from the first layout to the schedule_layout.xml(or whatever the second layout is called) maybe you could use some code you have from the previous version and stay on the same page. I know you're going for the modern look with lots of whitespace, but just see how it looks in the studio layout editor.

Also some minor things, 'Eye Care Effect' seems weirdly worded, just do what another user noted and put 'Intensity/Filter Intensity'.

The textView under the 'Night Light' text is unnecessary, and honestly confusing. If someone is going to toggle it off, settings usually dont toggle themselves back on. Just leave it blank and remove the onClick that changes the words when it's toggled on and off to clean the code.

Hope it helped, and good luck.

I like the idea of allowing us to set the intensity of the filter.

  • New design is nice, it accommodates my reading habbits at night, doesn't hurt or impare my sight when reading all night, Plus helps with migrain. the interface and options are pretty straight forward, but i would put like an tab widget to automatically put on the schedule so i can be already prepared for reading. But nevertheless it's a great improvement, thanks

I like the "Eye care effect". It is a nice addition. Also, the new design is clearer, but, like others have said, it does not fit the overall UI. Maybe just add the "Eye care effect" to the current design and rename it as "Intensity level" or something like that.

  • chuckbortchuckbort Chuck United StatesPosts: 586 ✭✭✭✭✭✭✭

I chose the new layout due to the ability to adjust the intensity with the slider. But as with several others the layout doesn't match so there would need to be some sort of merging of the styles to make it look like it belongs.

  • I like the option I find it very useful and easy to use

  • cavanaughtimcavanaughtim Wisconsin, USAPosts: 645 ✭✭✭✭✭✭✭

The current menu is a little confusing, but in the new menu everything seems crystal clear.

  • jasonscarterjasonscarter United StatesPosts: 1,827 ✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭

New layout for the win.  And I like the new design as well.  This looks like good progress!

  • dlweaver2dlweaver2 Hagerstown, MDPosts: 55 ✭✭✭✭✭

I actually like both designs but I do prefer the new one. The auto on/off option works great and it is very easy on the eyes. It's a great feature for an already great phone.
