What do I need to do to be able to connect my Overture 3 to my Dell laptop to watch movies do I need to use a USB cord or an HDMI cord or can I use Bluetooth or cuz I cannot I cannot use hotspot do you have any answers for me

You can't. The only way is to use the Hotspot tethering. Your computer has to connect to the network that your cell phone is on to have your computer use data through your phone. Just connecting it with a cable doesn't allow your computer to use data through your phone @ssy69.

However my husband believes that is not correct because of peoples u tube videos and he bought all kinds of cords and adapters
What i have learnred from this site the people who have made, used, and debated and researched there products
Im just going to hotspot
