Yeah the face unlock feature on mines doesn't work either. So I guess that's one of the problems with the operating system is to wear the future exists in the software but it's not hardware supported.
I'm wondering if it's choosing the order of unlocking, as in fingerprint first, pattern second, and face recog third.
I'm considering removing the fingerprint mode and see what happens.
