Welcome to our Consumer Lab page. While you will find many mobile research surveys kicked off by our teams, you will also find polls and discussions created by fellow members.
You're invited to complete any surveys that are still open and by all means create a poll if it relates to general mobile preferences. If your topic only pertains to one product, please create your poll within the respective product forum.
After a period of time Consumer Lab Polls, Surveys & Discussions will be locked. They will still be viewable for historical data.

I'm still up in the air on this one. I like the idea but what I don't like is the possibility of parts not fitting completely flush on a device.
At this point, Moto mods sound better. I like the Google method where each piece can be replaced though. That would be my ideal. Good topic though.
This is true as well... i think the market is so early but the concept is fantastic. Like a custom PC for phones, very intriguing.
I don't think i am a fan of either but the Moto does seem better. I have not read/seen much about them but it seems to me like the first two backplates (cant tell what the last one is) could be blocked by a case.
Also, the middle one looks like just a stand which many cases already have integrated with them.
Another vote for Moto.
"None", since I'm not yet sold on the idea, though I'm willing to be swayed by an exceptional implementation.
Moto leaks look promising I think but yeah lets wait and see
None of the above for me, I think they are both a bit half baked. I choose Google's own project Are, it looks awesome, and I can't wait to hear more about. Infinite easy modularity that all companies contribute too because it's a set standard. This will be excellent at preventing a monopoly since google wants other manufactures to produce modules as well, not just google.

I think they are both interesting but it will most certainly depend on what capabilities or funcitonality the particulat modules actually deliver to the device. By the looks of the Moto I would go with something of this design over the LG but I think the verdict is out on this until there is more development and more modules created. At least it looks like either route you go, you the battery would be easily accessible which would make a lot of users happy.
I'm not a fan of modular, but I prefer Moto's much more than the LG G5.
I'm not sure. Need to see what MOTO has
Let me know when the new Moto is released if you decide to get the Moto or the Axon!
I am undecided. The idea is intriguing to me, but just not sure about fit and finish, compatibility, reliability, longevity and functionality. All these parameters need to be proven first, and it's one of those things I might have to try hands on first to know if I would really like it or not.
Do people here think ZTE should go modular with future Axon devices?
I think it would be cool if they developed their own modules for Googles Project Ara. LG has shown creating your own modular system can be tricky.
I think an modular iteration would be welcomed, of course. The key is to introduce modules for the device that are useful and worth the purchase. I'm sure ZTE has brainstormed many module design ideas and they will design an excellent unit.
I havn't been a fan of project Are from what I've seen so far, looks too abstract for my tastes lol
As long as the modules dont fit clumsily.
I'm not sure I like what appears to be the MOTO add ons. I think I like the LG setup better. I am referring to the replaceable battery on the LG. That is a welcome addition I had an LG G4 and it was a pretty good phone but had poor battery life. I bought a extra capacity battery for it which helped tremendously.
LG G5...... ahem
I'm really not sold on the "modular" future. I don't want to shell out lots of money for a new phone then shell out more money for attachments. If I want more sound, I have an external Bluetooth speaker. I hear the mods will not be cheap. It's just another way for a company to make more money.
I'm thinking it is better for a smartphone manufacture to focus on making the device itself feature packed, rather than to sell on expansion. The LG G5 isn't all that great, and the B&O HiFi audio module here in the U.S.. LG could have put the same ESS audio chips into the LG G5 device and had a high-end audio smartphone to sell all-in-one, just as they did with the V10.
I love the idea of modularity, but neither of these are doing it right.
